The setting of Taylor Baseball's final game of the season and of it's existence in the northwest baseball community could not have been better scripted. On July 29th, 2018 at Bellevue College, in the championship game of the 2nd Chaffey Invitational, Taylor Baseball defeated Chaffey Baseball 5-4 in a come from behind effort to end the season and leave a mark on youth baseball in the pacific northwest!
Taylor Baseball was lead by a legendary coach in Darrel Sakamoto. For 25 years, Darrel built Taylor Baseball into one of the nations top 18 & under baseball programs. Behind Darrel was Paul and Karen Taylor. Both Paul and Karen Taylor were the financial backbone that enabled Taylor Baseball to compete on the regional and national level. Together, with coach Sakamoto's vision and the Taylor's sponsorship, Taylor Baseball helped countless pacific northwest youth baseball players experience their dream of playing competitive baseball at the national amateur level, the collegiate level, minor league level and major league level. Furthermore, coach Sakamoto and the Taylor family helped several coaches continue their coaching careers at the collegiate level and into professional baseball.
On behalf of all the past and present players, as well as the past and present coaches who have come through the Taylor Baseball program, thank you coach Sakamoto! Your vision, discipline, love for the game and commitment to excellence are remarkable! Thank you Paul and Karen Taylor for your dedication, love and support for pacific northwest youth baseball.
Taylor Baseball will forever be remembered as a dominating, class act organization!
